DOUG OSMOND ESTABLISHES HEAL THE PLAGUE FOUNDATION TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE DANGERS OF ADDICTION, OFFERING HELP TO THOSE WHO SUFFER.
Midway, UT - 9 October 2012: Doug Osmond, of the renowned Osmond Family, announces the launch of a new foundation dedicated to fighting addiction. Having emerged from a 22-year addiction to pornography and sex, he has made the decision to pledge the remainder of his life helping others to fight and recover from addictions to pornography, sex, alcohol, drugs, etc. Heal the Plague Foundation provides resources to help others emerge from that dark place inside where addictions rule.
Osmond came clean about his addiction in June of 2011. In the process, he lost his family, his career, and his self-esteem. “It was the most painful time in my life. I had betrayed my wife, my children, my family, and my faith. My wife and I were separated and on the verge of divorce, and there came a time where I felt going on was just too painful,” said Osmond. “Had my mother not stepped in, I’m not sure what would have happened. This is a place too many addicts find themselves in, and that’s where Heal the Plague Foundation can help. Sober since that date, I have my wife and children back, and will spend a lifetime repairing the damage I did.”
Osmond has teamed with a number of therapists, psychologists, and established programs to help addicts find the help they need. As Heal the Plague Foundation continues to grow, we will be able to help more and more people regain control of their lives. The goal of the foundation is to assist people in finding therapy through referrals, short-term counseling, and in the near future, offering financial assistance.
